Lifestyle recommendations
Other
Hydration: 2-3 litres of filtered water daily. Not tap — a fluoride-removing filter is essential. The kidneys cannot flush what there is no river to move.
The three exits must be flowing:
- Kidneys: hydrate generously, especially first thing in the morning. Warm water with lemon on waking opens the renal pathway.
- Bowels: daily movement is non-negotiable during any clearing. If stalled, increase magnesium citrate. Herbal laxatives as backup. Toxins in bile that aren't eliminated through stool get reabsorbed through the gut wall and recirculate.
- Skin: daily sweating — exercise, sauna, hot bath. The skin is your largest elimination organ. During intensive protocols, 20 minutes of sweating daily.
Diet: Emphasise bitter greens (dandelion, arugula, endive) — they open bile flow. Cruciferous vegetables support liver Phase 2. Reduce alcohol completely during active clearing — it competes for the same liver pathways.
Sleep: 7-9 hours. The brain shrinks by 20% during deep sleep to allow cerebrospinal fluid to wash through. Sleep is when the deepest clearing happens. ALA is taken in the evening specifically because the brain's glymphatic cleansing happens at night.
Movement: Gentle daily movement — walking, yoga, rebounding. The lymphatic system has no pump; it relies on muscular contraction to circulate. Sedentary days stall the transport.
Stress: Cortisol diverts resources from detox to emergency management. Any stress-reduction practice supports the transport clearing — meditation, breathwork, time in nature, social connection.
Environmental: Remove sources of ongoing toxic exposure where possible. Filter drinking and shower water. Choose organic produce for the dirty dozen. Reduce plastic food containers. The protocol clears what has accumulated — but continued exposure works against it.
