Uristatin consists of several botanicals for treatment of urinary tract infections. A study on the effect of uva ursi in women found at the end of one year that 22 of 27 in the placebo group and 30 of 30 women who took uva ursi had maintained a healthy urinary tract. Echinacea and berberine are added to Uristatin for additional beneficial effects, and buchu has a particular affinity for the urinary tract where it can help soothe inflamed tissues.

Medicinal Ingredients:

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 100 mg
(Bearberry) (leaf extract 4:1)
Dried equivalent of 400 mg/capsule

Berberine HCl (from Berberis aristata root) 100 mg

Agathosma betulina (Buchu) (leaf extract 4:1)100 mg
Dried equivalent of 400 mg/capsule

Echinacea angustifolia (Echinacea) (root) 100 mg

Non-Medicinal Ingredients:

Hypromellose (derived from cellulose) capsule, Silicon Dioxide, and L-Leucine.

Recommended Dose:

Take 2 capsules two times daily or as recommended by a health-care practitioner. For occasional use only. Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond one week. Take a few hours before or after any medication or natural health product. Take with food to avoid gastrointestinal upset.

If you have a fever, painful urination (dysuria), spasms, or blood in urine, consult a health-care practitioner prior to use and/or if you are taking any prescription or other medications. If you are taking immunosuppressants, or you have an autoimmune disorder, consult a health-care practitioner prior to use, or if you have a progressive systemic disease such as tuberculosis, leucosis, collagenosis, multiple sclerosis, AIDS and/or HIV infection. Do not take with highly acidic foods (e.g. citrus fruits and juice) or medications, which may acidify urine. Do not use if you are taking any anticoagulant medications such as warfarin. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use this product. If you have gallstones and/or if you have hypoglycemia, consult a health-care practitioner prior to use. If you have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, kidney or liver disorder, diabetes or edema (swelling of hands, face, or feet), or are taking products containing diuretics, do not use. May cause gastrointestinal discomfort such as constipation, vomiting, abdominal pain or diarrhea, in which case discontinue use and consult a health-care practitioner. Stop use and seek medical attention immediately if you experience dizziness, confusion, muscle weakness or pain, abnormal heart beat, and/or difficulty breathing.
