How It Works

Super Critical Omega contains the Omega 3 fatty acids EPA & DHA from cold water fish, which are essential fatty acids (EFA). The body can not produce these EFA's, so they must be ingested from food sources such as cold water fish, raw nuts and seeds. The Canadian diet is often deficient in EFA's, so it is vital to ensure adequate intake through supplementation. EFA's have many functions within the body. They are a component of every cell wall, crucial in maintaining hormone and prostaglandin levels, healthy skin and intestinal functioning. The fatty acids EPA & DHA have important biological functions in the central nervous system; DHA is a major structural component of neuronal membranes, while EPA has important physiological functions that can affect neuronal activity. DHA and EPA in particular have been shown in studies to be effective for many different conditions:

Asthma
Taking fish oils containing the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA each day may be helpful for patients with asthma (Jaber, 2002).

Pregnancy
Infants of mothers who supplemented with DHA had higher mental processing scores, psychomotor developmental, eye-hand coordination and stereo acuity at the age of 4 (Singh, 2005).

Directions For Use

Take 1 capsule daily. Can take up to 3 capsules daily if desired. 
Please note even though Super Critical Omega contains natural orange flavour, it should not be chewed as the lipase contained can cause burning of the throat.
