Alpha lipoic acid is a compound involved in eneergy metabolism, and functions with the mitochondria as an antio-oxidant. It has been studied for its use in diabetic neuropathy, blood pressure, and blood sugar. The R+ enantiomer appears to increase bioavailability.
Adults: Take 1 capsule three times daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner.
Duration of use: Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 3 months.
R(+)–alpha‑Lipoic acid (1,2-dithiolane-3-pentanoic acid). 150 mg
Do not exceed recommended dose. Discontinue use if you have any symptoms of gastric distress (abdominal pain, flatulence, and constipation). Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you have diabetes. Discontinue use and consult a health-care practitioner in case of sweating, paleness, chills, headache, dizziness, and/or confusion, as these may be symptoms of serious low blood sugar
