NMN stands for Nicotinamide mononucleotide, which is an immediate precursor to Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). NAD+ is a critical coenzyme found in every cell in the body and is essential in various biological processes, including energy metabolism, DNA repair, and gene expression. Declining NAD+ levels are seen alongside a loss in the function of our cells as a byproduct of aging. NMN can play a crucial role in maintaining NAD+ levels.
NMN belongs to the Vitamin B3 family of molecules, which includes the more common Niacin and Niacinamide found in multivitamins and B-Complex formulas. The difference between NMN and traditional forms of B3 is that NMN is a direct precursor to NAD+, unlike Niacin and Niacinamide, which must undergo conversion first.
Research has shown that NMN supplementation can increase NAD+ levels in cells and suggest that NMN may have the following health benefits: enhanced energy production, improved cellular function, improved cardiovascular health, anti-inflammatory properties, neuroprotectant, anti-aging and longevity promoting. In animal studies, NMN supplementation has been shown to extend lifespan and improve the health of aged animals.
AORs NMN-250 offers a high dose, standalone formulation of this novel molecule. NMN is a direct NAD+ precursor, unlike traditional forms of B3 and the popular molecule Nicotinamide Riboside (NR). NMN-250 provides superior cellular support for increasing NAD+ levels.
